Hand Bell Choir Biography
The adult handbell choir was organized by Freddie Skov in the spring of 2010. The choir started with 2 octaves of hand chimes and soon added a third octave of chimes. In 2014, three octaves of handbells were purchased with donations and memorials. As of our 175th anniversary, the members of the adult handbell choir are Kim Childs, Tanuja Dagley, Wanda Diden, Nancy Green, Angie Jones, Carolyn Jones, Mindy Jones, Marden Leonard, Opal Leonard, Lisa Pierce, Marie Sexton, Vicki Simpson, and Teresa Strunk. The adult handbell choir, directed by Wanda Diden, plays for both services during the church year with special music for Lent, Easter, and Christmas including the Camp Austin Christmas service. The handbell program also includes two hand chime programs with our Sunday School children during the opening of Sunday School.
A Ringing Welcome!
Our hand bell choir is well established but there is always room for one more! The choir practices regularly on Wednesday evenings. You do NOT need to know how to read music to ring a bell. In addition to hand bells, they mix it up with chimes as well. Come and be a part of a wonderful ministry.
